@rahulbhagwat - I don't see anything about NRE (IE mask costs) there. For runs of less than thousands of wafers that is going to be pretty dominate.

Calculating the cost is a pretty simple - you work out how many die fit onto a wafer, what number of those die will be working and then divide the cost of getting the wafer by the number of good chips. Then you need to add the cost of packaging and other stuff on top of that. It does get complicated when you start adding multiple die, advanced packaging, etc -- but you are unlikely to be doing that.
